Rue

Rue is one adorable kitty who loves to be held and have his belly rubbed. A little shy at first, Rue is currently in a foster home where he is getting lots of tender loving care and learning all the social graces needed to become a wonderful family pet. Rue is neutered and in excellent health.

Val

Val is a busybody, exploring every corner and every height. He came from a family of Van cats, a Turkish breed, white with black spots. Val does very nicely with other cats. In his time with Pet Rescue, this elegant cat has gone from being shy to enthusiastically claiming his share of love and attention.

Benny

Another street rescue is our Benny. This handsome white and black male is sweet in temperament and enjoys human company.

Gina

Gina is an adorable slender Torbie, very sweet and friendly, who loves to be petted. Rescued with her sister, Grace, she is a special kitty who would love to cuddle up to one very fortunate human.

Star

Star is a large black tuxedo male, about one year old. This super friendly cat was a well loved pet whose owner passed away. Our boy was trapped in his owner's house for days with three dogs before being rescued, and placed in a Pet Rescue foster home. In excellent health and up to date with all shots, Star gets along with dogs, other cats and will be a wonderful companion in a loving home.

Tess

I'm Tess, and along with my sister, Sophie, lived happily with our beloved owner Robin, who sadly passed away recently. We are still in her Manhattan apartment, but will have to leave soon and have nowhere to go. A neighbor comes in every other day to feed us. I'm sweet, affectionate, and very healthy, as is my sister Sophie. Up to date with all shots and ready to try a new home. Rusty

Rusty is a sweet, loving one year old orange tabby cat, found in the neighborhood of his current foster parent during a recent rain storm. Rusty has a great disposition, but does not enjoy the other cats in his current family, nor do we think he is comfortable with dogs. He like to kiss his humans, is known to drink out of the bathroom faucet and will come when you call him. Neutered and in good health, Rusty will make a new adopter very happy. Mackenzie

Mackenzie is a semi long hair female, about 1 year old and primarily white with black splotches and tail. She has a very distinctive look. She was rescued from a hoarding situation and now resides in a foster home where she gets along with other cats, dogs and children. She is very friendly and a real joy to be around.

Annie

Annie is an adorable Manx (tailess) tabby, very sweet and friendly. Being of the Manx breed, she has only a little stub for a tail. This is one very special lady and to meet her is to fall in love with her.

Tabitha

Tabitha is a one year old Russian Blue female who is now enjoying life in a wonderful foster home. Gentle and sweet, this doll was found eating out of the garbage just to survive on the streets. She is around other cats, dogs and kids and gets along with all.

Johnnie

Johnnie was adopted from Pet Rescue about 5 years ago by a caring person who gave him a wonderful home. His owner has, sadly, had to return Johnnie to us as he lost his job and then his condo, and can no longer provide for his beloved cat. Johnnie is as good a cat as can be. He likes people and cats, but prefers a calm home without too much activity. He is the best-natured cat with his huggable round body and beautiful soft gray striped coat. He is one big cuddly boy.

Anna

Anna is a sweet little calico kitten, only 4 months old now (born in May, 2011). Along with her sister, Anna was rescued from the streets and is now in a foster home situation. She is gentle, good natured and does well with other cats, kids and dogs.

Schnoop

This little guy may be petite in size, but is all heart and soul! About 2 years old (small for his age, he appears kittenish), Schnoop was rescued from a cat colony in Mamaroneck by the kind woman who now fosters him. He was the most engaging and devoted cat one can imagine, even while living outside -- truly a special kitty. Neutered and in good health, this boy runs toward his human when you enter the room, sits beside you while you chat on the phone and purrs when his nails are clipped. William

William is such a beautiful boy, and only about 1 1/2 years old. A bit shy, he enjoys human company, but also likes to be alone from time to time. With tender loving care, this gorgeous cat will come out of his shell and be a happy camper. William is in good health, loves to eat and play with water in his water bowl. Currently living in a home situation with two other cats, we feel he might do best as an only cat where he can be the apple of your eye.

Joy is a sweet and friendly marble grey female kitty who just loves to be tickled. Rescued from a hoarding situation, she is now being fostered and receiving the tender loving care she enjoys to live a happy feline life.

Felicity, born in 2010, was rescued from a hoarding situation. This lovely, petite tuxedo will hang back a bit until she gets to know you, and then she blossoms into an active and friendly feline, who will make for a wonderful companion.

Beautiful like a painting, Courtney is a lovely Tortoiseshell, about a year old and very sweet.

Jay

Jay (born in 2008) is a beautiful male black and white cat who is very sweet and friendly with humans. This handsome boy loves to be petted and brushed. He truly enjoys human contact, very people oriented, and is a fun cat to be around. Jay has a mellow nature and even disposition and will be a delightful addition to your family, as long as he is the only cat in the household.

Daisy

Daisy is a very gentle girl that loves to have her belly rubbed. If you're looking for a lap cat and a kitty that loves to be held, Daisy is your girl. She is about 1-2 years old and was abandoned when her owner moved. She is a lovely brown and white tabby with delightful green eyes that seem to just sparkle with delight when she is petted by a kind human.

Uma

Uma is a charming tabby and white female, and the mother of Tory (also featured on our website). Both Uma and Tory were rescued from the streets after their owner got a dog and no longer wanted the responsibility of cats. Uma is a sweet and loving lady who is now being fostered in a great foster home.

Joanne

Joanne (born in 2008) is a charming, quiet lady with beautiful coloring, approximately 4-5 years old. This petite sweetheart is a bit shy at first, but warms to a gentle touch. She's in good health and up to date with all vaccinations,just waiting for a new home to call her own.

Melody

Melody is a wonderful one year old tabby female, rescued froma hoarding situation. A super friendly feline, Melody will fit right in with other cats, dogs and kids. A good family companion.

Petey

Petey is a playful, affectionate, friendly cat. He loves a good laser light chase just as much as cuddling up for a lap nap. He quickly warms up to people and will always be there with an enthusiastic welcome home. His current owners took him in 3 years ago, but now must find a new home for this handsome grey and black striped cat. They are looking for a loving home where he will be treated like a member of the family. Petey would do best in a single-cat home so he can get all the attention he craves. Callie is a sweet, playful little female kitten (about 5 months old) who loves to chase toys and cuddle under the covers. She has the most beautiful tabby markings. Ochocinco

This well mannered 4 year old brown tabby male was found in an alley starving. With tender loving care, Ochocinco is now a plump and healthy little boy. We can tell he was once someone's pet, and he would certainly like to be back in a home to call his very own with humans who will care for him.

Boots

Boots is one fabulous marmalade cat, only about 1-2 years old! With that gorgeous red tabby coat, this cat is irresistible. Living in a foster home, Boots is getting lots of tender loving care, and good socialization, but would love a permanent loving home to call his own. Boots would prefer to be the only cat in the household, but plays well with the small dogs in his foster home. He also would do best in a household without small children.

Laney

Laney is an adorable, very friendly cat found at a Bowling Alley (reason for the name "Laney"). She is approx. 1 year old and petite in size. As you can see from the photos, Laney enjoys being held and is one curious, sweet kitty.

Alex

One look at that sweet, inquisitive face and you just know that this is a winner of a cat. With his floppy left ear and his gentle manner, Alex is a charmer who enjoys being held and being petted. His brief time on the streets was rough for this boy, but he's a true survivor who would love to snuggle up in your home.

Scarlett

Scarlett (born in 2010) is a new comer to Pet Rescue and very sweet & adorable. She was raised by one of our volunteers and is good with other cats and dogs. A little shy at first, her true sweet nature comes through in no time at all.

Quincy

This six month old orange and white male is very loving, sweet and also mischievous. A truly engaging personality. He was found with his sister (Sonia, also featured on our website) at a gas station and was taken in by our group where he delights his foster parent.

Roz

Roz, long, with an elegant Egyptian profile, gets along with everyone and keeps busy playing with toys and enjoying window views if she is not rolling over to be stroked. She will make a loving family companion without being over demanding. Roz was brought to us late one night after being taken out of a cramped cage in a NJ pound where she was not going to be given a chance.

Sydney

Beautiful Sydney is an exotic looking long-haired cat with some Siamese and Russian Blue in her background. She is both sweet and spunky, friendly, and gorgeous with a fluffy grey mane that looks and feels like velour. This distinctive looking kitty simply must be seen to be genuinely appreciated.

Skylar

This young handsome, lively cat is now enjoying life in a great foster home where he is around other cats, and even some dogs. Skylar is adorable and will make a wonderful feline companion.

Buffy

Buffy is a charming buff and white 2 year old male with a gentle, calm and sweet personality. He was rescued from an autobody shop where he wasn't being fed so he would catch mice. This great boy would make a wonderful addition to a loving home. He is in excellent health and up to date with all shots.

Sneakers

Sneakers is a tabby and white two year old male with a super affectionate personality. Up to date with all vaccinations, neutered and in excellent health, Sneakers gets along with other cats.

Ponzie

Ponzie is a handsome orange tabby male. very friendly and sweet. He was found as part of a colony of cats outside and rescued, as a very domesticated cat who had once been a pet in someone's family. Ponzie now needs a new family to call his own.

Meep

Meep is a beautiful little tortie kitty who was rescued by the staff of a Manhattan veterinary hospital from a bodega where she was being used to hunt mice. Only 5 months old (born August 2011), Meep is spayed, in excellent health and up to date on all her vaccinations. Snoopy

Snoopy is a handsome black and white Tuxedo male, approx. 4 years old. Very friendly and affectionate, he would make an excellent choice for a single or a family. Snoopy is in excellent health and up to date with all shots. Snoopy came to us when his young owner died last year at Manhattanville College.

Mia

Mia is a beautiful fluffy, all black long-hair with some Maine Coon in her ancestry. About 1 1/ - 2 years old, Mia loves attention and is a sweetheart who enjoys having her silky, soft and beautiful long-hair brushed. She was found by her foster parent living outside their home, and they took her under their wing when she was pregnant. Her kittens have long since been adopted and Mia was spayed. Mia gets along with other cats, dogs and children and will make a wonderful family pet.

Joey

JOEY a lithe tabby was flown to Pet Rescue from California with his brother when the woman who rescued them from the street went to a nursing room. Joey needs a home with someone who will be patient and nurturing because Joey is shy but he does respond to loving attention. He gets along with other cats and would love to be part of a little group.

Madrid

Madrid is a lovely one year old calico. Very friendly and sweet, she was rescued from a hoarding situation. Now this charming one year old is part of a small group of cats in a foster home receiving good care and ready for adoption. She is in great health and up to date with all shots.

Gia

With her blue-grey coat and long, slim face, we feel exotic Gia has both Russian Blue and Siamese ancestry. She is a mellow cat with a calm personality who enjoys being petted. Gia was found pregnant, and gave birth to her kittens at our Cat Place. The kittens were adopted, Gia has been spayed, and is now ready for a permanent home all her own.

Sophie

I'm Sophie, the sister tabby of Tess, also featured on the website. Our beloved owner sadly passed away recently and we miss her, as we came into her life as little kittens. With Tess, I'm still living in her Manhattan apartment, but will have to leave soon and have nowhere to go. A kindly neighbor comes in every other day to feed us. Morris

This Russian Blue is a true find. Lithe and intelligent, Morris is a bit wary at first with strangers, but will quickly adapt himself to his new surroundings and become a wonderful and loyal feline companion. Approx. 1 1/2 years old, Morris is in good health and up to date with all vaccinations.

Carolyn's Kittens

This is one of three adorable kittens born just 2 days before Hurricane Irene near St. Benedict's Rectory under a bush in the Bronx! The delightful trio (one is a tabby boy, and two are white with a smidgen of grey, being one male and one female) and their Mom have been in a wonderful foster home since birth. Now they're ready for a permanent place to call their very own. These fabulous kitties are very affectionate and not afraid of dogs. They are in excellent health and have had their first shots. Patty

Patty (born in 2008) is a beautiful tuxedo. This sweet, quiet girl was given up by someone who moved into a home that did not allow cats. She is friendly with all and is comfortable with other cats.

Lily

Lily is a lovely declawed gray tabby cat around 5 years old, with a sweet personality. She is very affectionate once she gets to know you, but initially a bit shy. We feel she might do best as the only feline in a household with adults or older children. Lily loves laying on top of her person while in bed, or on your legs if you are sitting down on the couch. She loves looking out the screen door in the summer, and will alert you when it's time for dinner. Lily is a very delightful kitty. In excellent health, Lily is up to date with all shots.

Charlotte

Charlotte is a two year old light tabby female (born in 2009), rescued from a hoarding situation. She is sweet, very friendly and truly enjoys human company. She is now being fostered and is receiving the good care and attention she needs until a permanent loving home is found for her.

Georgia

Georgia is an adorable grey tabby whose favorite toy is her stuffed ducky. Sweet and friendly girl.

Taffy

Our Taffy is 100% male and one handsome 5 month old kitty (born april 2011). White with a bit of grey, he is very affectionate, playful and super curious. Rescued from the streets, he now resides happily in a foster home with other cats, dogs and children. All he needs is a permanent loving home to call his very own.

Rosie

Rosie is a beautiful girl, about 5 years old. This sweetie came to Pet Rescue after her owner was evicted. She is a little shy and confused right now after losing her home but very sweet nonetheless. She would do fine in a home with other cats ( as long as they are not too bossy as that would overwhelm her).

Alicia

Alicia is a beautiful tabby,sweet and affectionate. She enjoys human company and is very ready for a forever home.

China

China is a very sweet, one year old white and grey female cat who was rescued from the streets and now enjoys life in a foster home, while she waits for a permanent loving home. China does well with other cats, dogs and kids.

Tory

Tory is a darling kitty, very loving and sweet, now residing in a foster home where she is getting lots of love and attention. Along with her mother, Uma (also featured on the website), she was rescued off the streets after being thrown out of her home because her owner got a dog and didn't want the responsibility of cats anymore.

Lexi

Lovely Lexi is a long-haired beauty. She is very rambunctious and curious and loves to climb and run. An affectionate cat who loves to be petted, Lexi will get into everything and all. In excellent health, Lexi is living in a home situation with two other cats. She does get along with the others, but loves to have all the attention in the world.

Missy

Missy is a beautiful tortie cat that loves to sit with you and has two desires in her life: to adore her owner and to be adored back. She will love all the attention and affection that you give her. She loves to lick the hand that is petting her. Missy has a sweet soft purr that starts immediately when she see you. This beauty has a great appetite and is an inside cat only. About 4 years old, Missy has had all her shots. She will captivate your life as she has done with her fosters. Missy is one of two cats that survived from her litter as the Mom cat had distemper and left Missy with mild neurological issues, which will never get worse. She is in excellent health and all you will notice is that Missy's legs may splay from time to time when walking or running.

Mario

Mario is a 7 month old Russian Blue mix (born March 2011) who was recently rescued from a hoarding situation. This sweet and gentle boy is good with other cats, kids and dogs. He is one adorable older kitten!

Zoey

Pick me, pick me! Zoey is an big tabby girl who is friendly and sweet!

Clooney

It's hard to believe Clooney (approx. 2 years old) was matted, dirty and hungry when he was found in the cold near a factory in Mamaroneck. This "gorgeous George",now in a foster home, is talkative and showing his true beautiful colors and clear markings. Gomer

Gomer is a big sweet lug of a cat who's been a true survivor. Dumped on the streets a year ago when his owner moved, he made it through the winter living on his own, thanks to a neighbor's porch and a good samaritan who brought food a couple times a week. Now safe in a foster home, this three-year-old sweetie has once again found his comfort zone. He thrives on human attention and has an endearing habit of giving a loud meow every time he thinks he might be lucky enough to get a head rub. Despite being the largest cat in his foster home, he is not at all pushy and mixes well with the resident cats, as well as dogs.

Ginger

Ginger is a sweet, adorable calico, about a year old.

Noel

What a lovely name for a sweet and lovely kitten! Noel was the runt of the litter, but this little calico darling is thriving now. She just loves to play and cuddle. Born the end of April 2011, Noel is growing into a marvelous feline who merits a good home.

Ashley

Ashley is an 18 months old black/white tuxedo female. Fiesty and playful, Ashley was left behind in an apartment when her owner moved. This active, intelligent cat is in great health, up to date with all vaccinations and will make a fun addition to your household.

Kiki

Kiki is a sweet tuxedo kitty. Her eye closes a bit caused by an infection she had as a kitten. It has healed and she can see just fine.

Lisa

Lisa is a charming tuxedo cat for all you tuxedo fans. She is very sweet and loves to be tickled. This beauty was found on the bitter cold streets in this past January's snow storm. She is a true survivor. Lisa is in a great foster home where she gets along with other cats, dogs and kids.

Monkey

Monkey is a striking silver and white tabby male, approx. 3 years old. Very gentle and sweet, Monkey was rescued from the street with a leg wound which has since been treated and has healed. He is in great health now and up to date with all vaccinations.

Tallulah

Tallulah is a 2-year old petite black beauty, healthy, happy and loving. A kind woman took Tallulah in as a rescue and she became a member of the family. Tallulah gets along with the other cats in the house and is the first to jump in bed at night with her humans. She's spayed, tested and up-to-date on vaccinations. Snowflake

Snowflake (Siamese mix) is a charmer and a survivor This little beauty was found on a Yonkers street, after having been thrown off a roof by some cruel children. She suffered neurological problems from this horrible treatment, but this tough little lady has recuperated beautifully. She still has the "wobbles", though she always manages to get to wherever she wants to go, including the litter box. Her impaired nerve condition will not get worse. Snowflake is enthusiastic about people and loves to play -- especially boxing. In her foster home, Snowflake loves climbing the stairs. Come meet her and we know you'll want to take her home.

Bronx & Brooklyn

Two handsome orange tabbies, only about one year old, must find a new home as their current owner is moving to Texas, and sadly, cannot take them along. Bronx is the darker orange and Brooklyn is the lighter. Both cats are neutered, up to date with all vaccinations and have delightful "orange tabby" personalities. Violet

Violet is an adorable kitty, very sweet and friendly with a cute pink nose.

Veronica

Veronica is a charming tortie/calico mix, who was rescued from under a porch, sick and with kittens. Now in splendid health, Veronica is very playful, fun and affectionate. Spayed and up to date with all vaccinations, Veronica will be a delight in your home.

Grace

Grace is an adorable Torbie, very sweet and friendly, who loves to be petted. Rescued with her sister, Gina, she is a special kitty who would love to cuddle up to one very fortunate human.

Jack

Jack (brother of Callie who is also on the website), has a wonderfully placid temperament. He loves to play, but settles right down on any available lap. Only about 5 months old now, he's a gorgeous silver tabby with a beautiful soft coat. He loves to chase anything that moves and is quite the acrobat, doing flips, and jumping to grab things in midair. Jack is neutered, has all his shots and is in great health overall. Sonia

Sonia is a simply gorgeous 6 month old calico cat, sister of Quincy (also featured on our website). With Quincy, she was abandoned at a gas station, but is now a happy resident of a foster home. Sonia is playful, fun and sweet. A real delight.
